Connected Technology for Crane Fleets

Fleet technology built for the way crane businesses operate, from road access compliance to everyday operations.

Built for Cranes

Technology Built Around Crane Operations

V-DAQ brings the technology behind your operation together helping crane hire and mobile crane businesses manage compliance, improve visibility and get more value from their fleet data.

Simplify the complex

One Crane Fleet. Different Rules Across Australia.

Taking a mobile crane across state borders isn't always as straightforward as taking another fleet vehicle with it.

NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland each have their own access arrangements, Special Purpose Vehicle categories and telematics requirements.

A crane operating under the right requirements in one state isn't automatically covered when it crosses into another.

V-DAQ helps simplify that complexity.

We support mobile crane operators with regulatory telematics across multiple jurisdictions, helping you understand the requirements that apply to your fleet and manage them through one technology partner.

TMA

What is TMA for Mobile Cranes?

The Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) is part of Australia's National Telematics Framework and is used to support road access for eligible Special Purpose Vehicles, including mobile cranes.

Depending on the state, crane configuration and access arrangement, enrolling in an approved telematics scheme may be a condition of operating at particular masses or accessing certain parts of the road network.

Products

One Platform for Your Crane Operation

Fleet Tracking & TMA

See where your cranes and vehicles are, review trip history and manage regulatory telematics requirements through the same connected platform.

Video & Safety

Add video evidence and safety intelligence to help protect drivers, understand incidents and support safer fleet operations.

Cranes, Vehicles & Assets

Extend visibility beyond the crane itself. Track fleet vehicles, trailers, dollies, equipment and other high-value assets across your operation.

Connected Systems

Connect V-DAQ with the systems your business already uses across maintenance, safety, compliance and operations — so valuable fleet data doesn't stay locked inside another standalone system.

Why V-DAQ

Compliance Without the Runaround

1

Multi-State Compliance, Made Simpler

Operating across state borders shouldn't mean managing disconnected technology providers.

V-DAQ supports regulatory telematics requirements across NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland, giving multi-state crane operators one technology partner to work with as their fleet moves between jurisdictions.

2

Get Connected Faster

V-DAQ's compact telematics hardware is designed for straightforward deployment across your fleet, including self-installation where appropriate.

Prefer someone else to handle it? Professional installation is also available.

3

Manage Sites Remotely

Create and manage geofences around depots, customer locations and job sites from the V-DAQ Platform.

Review entry and exit activity, time on site and historical movement without needing to make changes to hardware in the vehicle.

4

Built for Fleets That Change

Cranes move. Fleets grow. Equipment changes.

V-DAQ gives you a connected technology foundation that can grow with the operation, from regulatory telematics and fleet tracking today to asset visibility, video safety and connected systems as your requirements evolve.

Your Fleet Data Should Do More

Knowing where a crane is matters. Understanding what is happening across the operation is where that data becomes more valuable.

With V-DAQ, fleet data can support:

Fleet visibility

See live and historical movement across cranes, vehicles and assets.

Site activity

Use geofences and trip data to understand arrivals, departures and time spent on site.

Fleet Utilisation

Use activity and reporting data to understand how equipment is being used across the business.

Safety and incident review

Combine vehicle context with video evidence and safety intelligence where Video & Safety is deployed.

Maintenance workflows

Connect fleet data with compatible maintenance systems to reduce duplicate data entry and keep operational records aligned.

Business systems

Connect V-DAQ with other fleet applications or use the V-DAQ API to put your data to work across the business.

Motion Group

Our mechanics talk about V-DAQ being the easiest system to use compared to previous systems. The happier those guys are with how the system works, the easier it is for me.

FAQ's

Have Any Questions?

You'll probably find your answers here... If not, let's chat!

What is a TMA SPV Monitoring Scheme?

A TMA SPV Monitoring Scheme uses the Telematics Monitoring Application under the National Telematics Framework to support road access arrangements for eligible Special Purpose Vehicles.

‍

For mobile cranes, the applicable scheme and requirements depend on the state, vehicle configuration and access arrangement under which the crane operates.

Do I need different telematics hardware for every state?

Not necessarily.

‍

Where your V-DAQ hardware and service meet the requirements of the relevant schemes, the same telematics technology can support cranes operating across multiple jurisdictions. The enrolments and access conditions applying to the vehicle may still differ by state.

‍

V-DAQ can help determine what is required based on where your cranes operate.

What's the difference between IAP and TMA?

The Intelligent Access Program (IAP) and Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) are both applications within Australia's National Telematics Framework, but they operate differently and the required application depends on the relevant road access arrangement.

‍

Several crane access arrangements now use TMA, while transition requirements may apply in some jurisdictions.

‍

Check the relevant state page or speak with V-DAQ about the requirements for your fleet.

Can V-DAQ manage cranes operating across multiple states?

V-DAQ provides regulatory telematics services across multiple Australian jurisdictions, allowing operators with interstate fleets to work with one technology provider.

‍

The specific enrolment and access requirements still depend on the state and crane configuration.

Can V-DAQ track the rest of our fleet as well?

Yes.

‍

V-DAQ can provide visibility across cranes, fleet vehicles, trailers and other powered and non-powered assets. Fleets can also add Video & Safety and connect V-DAQ data with compatible fleet management, maintenance, compliance and operational systems.
