TMA SPV Monitoring Scheme – Up to 40-Tonne SPVs (VIC)
The TMA SPV Monitoring Scheme – Up to 40-Tonne SPVs is a scheme administered by DOT to monitor road utilisation of SPVs up to 40 tonnes operating under the applicable permit on approved routes on the Victorian road network.
To participate in the scheme, operators must conform with the requirements specified within the applicable permit. Eligible DOT vehicle categories for the scheme include the following, and must be fitted with a telematics device:
- 2-axle pick and carry crane up to 40 t
- 2- to 3-axle crane up to 40 t with forward projection exceeding General Notice requirements
- Truck-mounted crane up to 40 t
- Concrete pump truck up to 40 t
DOT monitors vehicles enrolled in the scheme on routes as described in the applicable permit and indicated on network maps available on the DOT website.
