The V-DAQ TAG5 makes vehicle tracking simple, reliable, and robust. Built for fast installation and dependable performance, it gives you the real-time insights you need to keep your fleet moving.
With a secure power connection, tamper-resistant design, and the latest GPS/GNSS positioning, cellular, and Bluetooth technology, the TAG5 delivers accurate, second-by-second data in all conditions.
Whether upgrading your fleet or fitting out new vehicles, the TAG5 minimises downtime, simplifies deployment, and delivers actionable insights from day one.
The V-DAQ TAG5 is a compact, easy-to-install telematics device that provides second-by-second vehicle tracking. It is purpose-built and trusted by fleets that rely on real-time data to keep their operations moving.
Telematics is essential across transport and logistics, giving businesses fleet visibility, helping meet compliance obligations, and improving safety.
The TAG5 mounts directly to a vehicle’s windscreen and connects to the fuse box using the included Power Adaptor with 3-metre cable. The four interchangeable fuse taps and hard-wire option makes installation fast, clean, and compatible with a wide range of vehicles.
Once powered, the TAG5 uses high-precision GPS/GNSS along with the 4G LTE CAT-M1 network to send live updates to the V-DAQ Platform. This provides instant visibility of vehicle location, speed, and motion, supported by advanced reporting, monitoring, and alerting tools that keep fleets efficient, compliant, and protected.
For additional insights, the TAG5 can be paired with add-on sensors such as On-Board Mass (OBM) systems, enabling real-time and historical monitoring of axle and gross combination weights.

Get StartedThe V-DAQ TAG5 is a compact, easy-to-install tracking device that records vehicle location, speed, and motion every second. It sends this information securely over the 4G LTE CAT-M1 network to the V-DAQ Platform, giving you near real-time visibility, alerts, and insights.
TAG5 is designed for flexible installation. You can have an auto-electrician fit it, or you can do it yourself.
The device mounts to the windscreen and connects to the vehicle’s fuse box using the included Power Adaptor with a three-meter cable. Four interchangeable fuse taps are provided, with a hard-wire option for other setups. Installation is fast, neat, and works across a wide range of vehicles.
Installation steps:
1. Check the guide. Review the quick instructions included with your TAG5 and Power Adaptor.
2. Locate power. Use the fuse taps to connect to both constant and ignition power sources.
3. Mount the hardware. Plug in the Power Adaptor, route the cable neatly, and mount TAG5 securely on the windscreen. Position it with a clear view of the sky, ideally on the right-hand side or in the centre, avoiding obstructions such as metal visors or stone guards.
4. Activate the device. Run the vehicle in an open area for about 20 minutes to complete activation. Once connected to cellular coverage, tracking begins instantly in the V-DAQ Platform.
TAG5 connects via the Telstra 4G LTE-M network, designed for IoT devices and built to maximise coverage across Australia.

TAG5 uses a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), which includes GPS (Global Positioning System) and other satellite networks, to deliver highly accurate location and speed data.
TAG5 also features advanced motion-based positioning, ensuring reliable tracking both outdoors and when vehicles travel through tunnels or underground areas.
TAG5 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4, paired with an ultra-long-range design. This allows stable connectivity with sensors installed in trailers more than 80 metres away.
Yes. When a vehicle is sold, replaced, or upgraded, TAG5 can be removed and reinstalled in another vehicle.
You can access the V-DAQ Platform via web browser or through our iOS and Android apps. The platform lets you view live location and trip history, create alerts, and run reports, helping you improve fleet efficiency, compliance, and safety.
